THE ‘CLASSICAL’ HOUSE @ RIPLEY CRESCENT

Architecture + Interior Design

6 400 sq ft  Bungalow

Old House

This project is a Reconstruction of an existing 2.5 storey detached house. We replanned and expanded the entire house while also reworking the entire attic to maximise the usable floor spaces. We retained the art deco ornate stair structure while inserting a brand new lift. The front facade and all external fenestrations were reworked. The facade is expressed by emphasizing the horizontal elements of the overhanging balconies and carporch structure. The metal & glass gable end roof of the attic crowns the front elevation creating a visually well balanced and elegant architectural expression.

The interiors of this project was developed closely together with the homeowner, we reinterpreted a classical aesthetic into a harmonious blend of black & white colonial and farmhouse chic. While a pale and modern palette of colours and materials form the base of this project, we also combined classical moldings, colonial details and various rustic / industrial fittings to craft this unique residential project.
