FOUNDER’S MEMORIAL

OVERALL VIEW:

We envision the Founder’s Memorial to be in a park like setting for all visitors to enjoy the sea breeze, lush tropical landscape and beautiful city views. Our proposal creates both the park and the memorial simultaneously by manipulating the ground level to create raised and sunken planes that allow the park to exist above and between the designated memorial spaces.

GRAND STAIRWAYS:

2 sets of grand stairways allow entrance and exit into the Founder’s Memorial Atrium Garden. Here at these stairways, casual performances can occur while visitors leisurely enjoy the park environment. Students and Tourists can congregate in these spaces as waiting areas.

ATRIUM GARDEN:

This long triple ceiling heighted space is the main memorial space. The sculpted brick walls contrast with the gleaming multi-facetted glass façade in this slightly sunken memorial space. This space serves as both gallery and meditative space as visitors can view exhibits and reflect on our nation’s founders and their words of wisdom.
